- Summary
-
- Continues the story of Publius Cornelius Scipio (Scipio Africanus) and Hannibal. But this is also the story of Scipio's son and daughter; of his enemy, Marcus Porcius Cato and his ally, Graccus; of the slave, Netikerty; of the prostitute, Arete; of Antioch III, king of Syria; of the elderly Plato; and also of Scipio's wife, Emilia Tercia, who maintained her dignity until the end, despite public and private disasters
--From publisher's description
